Could anyone recommend a set of extra long scale strings for a 35 scale 6 string bass please?.
-
DR bass strings work well for longer scale basses as well as string through body basses. I used them on a Lakland bass with no issues.

If you play compressed or ground roundwounds you may try GHS, Labella, RotoSound & (thanks to this forum) Pyramid
-
I just purchased 6 sets of Pyramid Gold flat wound strings. 3 short and 3 long.
-
Where did you buy the Pyramid strings from? I've been looking for a set for my Series 1.
-
Alembic strings are pretty good, as are the DR's.
Also, juststrings.com carries the Pyramids. They are a great place to get strings.
-
I'll check out juststrings.com then. Thanks for the tip!

Or,____ check out http:www.tone-man.com/pyramid.htm (http://www.tone-man.com/pyramid.htm)

+1 for juststrings.com , I recently ordered strings from them and they were delivered in about 6 days...plus a free polishing cloth
-
Yep Just strings are a good place, I've ordered stuff from there and its got to me in the UK in under a week..
Hmm didn't get a free polishing cloth though..... :-)

I always order through Just Strings. They offer a better price and are very dependable on delivery. Free polishing cloth? Where's mine??? They always send me free little bags of picks. I just throw them in my junk box - Oh I see. Hmmmm, they say Elixir on them. It must be free goodies according to what the string manuafactures are passing out with their strings.
-
The just strings prices on Pyramid flatwound bass strings appear to be higher then else where .

I sit corrected. You are right on the Pyramids. I use round-wounds, and I like Elixir Nanowebs best. Just Strings does have the best price on those I can find. If you can find a better price including shipping, I will happily sit corrected once again, enjoying a savings next time I purchase a batch.
