I had never listened the sound of Fer-bic sound. Someone might have interest in it.

A beautiful bass but the tone is rather dull especially with the filters wide open. My S2 sounds like that with the filters all the way down. Well, my curiosity has been curbed so no Alembic copy for me!

I would be interested to hear a clip of a Series I with the same setup for comparison. As far as dull tone, it seems pretty good to me (as a guitar player). I would have to know what amp he used, his EQ settings, the mic used, and to be really specific, hear it in person to make a fair judgment. Without a doubt, the guy has some skills.

There is a sheen to the sound that just does'nt exist here even if his amp settings have a considerable amount of treble rolled off. Alembic filters are very powerful and can override most amps e.q.
No doubt about his skills as he's very good and his sound overall is good, it's just not as close to Alembic as one might think. Probably closer to a Kawai F2B sound than anything.

Untrimmed string ends!! How tacky.

It's very rare that these are photographed or video'd; the black helicopter guys usually X-File this stuff out of the public domain. You see, it's actually a clone playing a clone bass, . . . wait a minute, somebody's kicking my door iNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

I think the tone is dull mostly because the strings are dead...

Forget about the sound, strings etc..it was pretty damn funky and nice slap playing.
