Title: Muriel Anderson
Post by: David Houck on June 05, 2010, 10:07:15 PM
Earlier this evening the thought occurred to me that there are thousands of wonderful books that I will never read; and the same can be said of music.  There are so many great musicians out there, and so much great music.

I happened upon a video showing performances by Laurence Juber, Muriel Anderson & Phil Keaggy.  The Juber piece, a cover of Strawberry Fields, is nice, but then Muriel Anderson really caught my attention.  If you don't have time for the whole video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QY884F2W1mw), skip ahead to the 3:00 mark.  There are places in the piece were she's playing two speed runs at the same time; very impressive stuff.

So then I'm looking around to find something else by her and I find something completely different, her Bluegrass Medley (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNjAhEz0DGM), which is very cool.

And then, there's this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jERYGt7Pc90).

Music is just so amazing; we live on a pretty cool planet.
