I used to work with a USB guitarist, (Usually Sipping Beer).
This is pretty cool though.

It's got some possibilities, for sure. Actually, the idea of somewhat self-contained USB mics is what's really got my curiosity. Of course, USB direct boxes would be terribly nifty as well. And think of one day soon running a single USB cable from the stage (in lieu of a snake) or back to the power amps (and also containing the lighting scene-change signals)..

ok, it only too me about two hours, but I finally got that...

I'm here all week folks.

John,
The snake replacement already exists, but it's expensive, and not USB. Usually it runs directly over Cat 5 cable.

Usually Smoking Boo?

It took me a couple of views to get the USB guitarist bit also.
Bradley, you must tell me more of this Cat5 snake replacement of which you speak... (then explain again how sheep's bladders may be employed to prevent earthquakes)

John,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audio_over_Ethernet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audio_over_Ethernet)
Has the basics. I didn't remember correctly-- it does use Ethernet (Layer 2), it isn't a raw cable connection.
There are other devices that will inject an audio signal over Cat 5, but they are analog, not suitable for snake replacement (unless you want to run a lot of Cat 5).
A herring!

The new Zoom pedals have a USB interface?? I never have used it but is it the same?
When I bought it it came with a copy of Cubase VST
How good are the MIDI Pu's for bass these days, the early ones didn't 'track' very well at all, I would love to try MIDI so I can play sax solos on my bass!!!!!LOL

oh Kimberly...
Somebody asked about midi pickups for bass.
-
Cool. Thanks. I'll give it a good read this evening!
