Am I the only one having trouble connecting to the Alembic board today?
-
Nope. I've been really slow at times or cannot connect.
Keith

I'm having problems now, and this morning I pretty much couldn't get to the site at all. I didn't try it during the afternoon.
In fact, this is my third try on this post.
-
The Alembic site is always painfully slow for me, so I haven't really noticed any difference. I usually click to post, surf on another tab for a bit, then check back to see if the page has loaded yet.. :P
John
Happy New Year, everyone! (headed out to Gig Hell, Wallet Heaven in a bit)
-
John; posting is always slow, which a think is related to the software we use, but I'm having problems just getting pages to load.
-
Dave:
I've had problems today also. I got an error message saying the server was down.
Bill, tgo
-
Thanks Bill!
-
As far as posting speed goes, it was very quick after the last time Mica did some database maintenance. It must have been either a restoration or a re-indexing. I suspect there is something wrong in the basic architecture of the boards package that the database gets slow so quickly.
I did get a couple of server down situations today, but nothing that lasted more than 5-10 minutes.
-
So far, it seems to be much better today; of course, it is a completely different year today than yesterday.
-
Maybe it stared it's New Year Eve's celebration a little early yesterday.
-
Im still having problems connecting guys, took many attenpts today
-
I'm just now logging on and having no problems. Were you able to get to other web sites with no problems?
-
Dave, I also tried to enter the site about seven or eight hours ago, and it was just impossible to get into the club... i was wondering if you received my member fee in time ;-)
-
I could not get into the Alembic site first this this morning.
Keith
-
Seems fine now...happy times!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Same here. obviously, it's fine now. Y2K syndrome deja vu? LOL!
-
Christian; try resending the member fee. Also, sometimes raising the level of the fee helps.
-
okay...
-
Christian; thanks for resending the fee! You should be able to log in ok now; just as soon as I get back from the bank an unexpected trip in to town.
-
WOW ! It works, I also have access to previously hidden topics such as... umm... well, fellow members, better pay the fees also to get access to ALL the cool features of the club, LOL.
-
Hey, I send Dave a cheque for $100 every time I want to start a new thread...I havent encountered a single glitch yet!!
-
I send cash. Of course my Monoploy Game is almost empty now. LOL
-
Really bad weather here, lots and lots of rain. I expect there to be some periodic server problems for the rest of the day.
-
Hey Dave, if I send you $100, can I get the password for the section with the nude instruments?
Bill, tgo
P.S. Intermittent problems getting on the site this morning. We're getting a big storm out here right now. Of course one must keep in perspective that a California big storm may not be all that big by other geographical standards. (In N.Y. people don't go this nuts unless there's at least 3' of snow).

In Indiana we sometimes have to move the servers indoors due to inclement weather... ;)
John
-
But what do you do in clement weather?
-
Move 'em back outside. Duh!
-
Clement weather takes care of itself, doesn't it?
Was a tough day for the server, though.
-
Yeah!!!! We're back!!!
-
I hope everyone out there in Northern California is ok. I read a lot of reports about high winds, lots of rain, lots of snow in the higher elevations, flooded streets, flying trash cans, power outages, and downed internets.
-
Bill; due to internet security issues, keys to the innermost sanctums are passed in person only.
-
Hope you folks are all okay, even the ones nowhere near the storm, just on principle. Seriously, my advrider.com buddies tell me the mountains are pure treachery this weekend. Be careful everybody...
