Title: D'Addario Pro Steels

I'm really thinking of buying these for my Series 1 and my Curbow.
Any opinions would be so much appreciated

I've never used th Pro Steels before but I like D'Addario half-rounds for my fretless.

I had XL Nickel Wound rounds on my Spoiler before the DR Low Riders (steel) that are on now.
 
According to the Tone and Feel Spectrum Chart printed on the back of the package, the ProSteels are Super Bright for tone and Textured Round for feel, whereas the Nickel Wounds are between Bright and Super Bright for tone and Normal Round for feel.
 
I wouldn't call the nickels terribly bright, but they kept a clear tone for a very long time. They became a little dull in the end, but still useful.
 
I would guess that if they label the ProSteels as Super Bright, they will be just that. They might become dull quicker than the nickels, and the question is if they'll still sound useful.
 
You can get just about two sets of D'Addarios for the price of one set of DRs, so you can change strings more often.

A good deal I think.

I have them on my Nexus bass at the moment. Very good strong sound - slightly similar to Rotosound Swing Bass strings; I prefer Rotosounds but the ProSteels are good too, plus I can get them extra cheap at the instrument store where I work, lol! I can recommend them to anyone who needs strong bright aggressive sound.

Got them on my 2 basses---------------REAL good strings. Just got to see how long they last now with my ham Fisted playing techniques, but probably the best string I've used so far

I'm about to buy a Cort Curbow fretless bass for silly money-about ?250 new
If it's as good as my fretted Curbow, which is the best bass for the money I've heard in a LOOOOONG time, then it should be one superb fretless for the bucks

To anyone who has never tried these basses, give them a real good shot. You'll be so surprised.
