It says on his website it's for real
-
$2,500 + $75 shipping!!! While Stanley is a hero in this area of the internet, most people (unfortunately) have never heard of him.
-
A canceled check of Leo Fender's to his first wife from 1965 went for about 125 dollars...sounds like this seller is a bit hopeful.
-
That's a pretty short song.
-
And easy too!!!
-
What does he want for a grocery list?
-
Is it matted and framed?
-
I have an old Alembic catalogue signed by John Entwistle. Hmmm..... I wonder what that's worth.....
-
Dave
The song is played at 2bpm; therefore, it's 8 min long.
-
The rythm looks quite strange to me, what part of the song is that?
-
Please Note: I accept Pay Pal, but I expect the buyer to pay all expenses of the seller if this is the preferred payment method. International and non-mainland USA please note a $100.00 handling fee, plus all insurance and shipping charges.
Thank you for Bidding
-
ya ...but if you buy it you WILL sound as good as Stanley...as long as you have an old fuzzface and italian vox wah right next to it.
-
The auction ends on 7/12. I anticipate heavy sniping activity at the last minute...good luck everyone.
-
Mike, at 2bpm it's no longer easy; unless you've got a clock mounted on your music stand.
Peter, I don't know the song extremely well, but humming the line to myself, I don't recognize it either.
-
Davehouck shame on you!! Don't know the song very well!!! It is engrained on every bass players memory along with Jaco's Donna Lee.(LOL)
To be fair I ain't exactly familiar with any Dead stuff either.
-
Terry; hee hee, I've never even tried to learn Donna Lee.
-
I can do the first 32 bars(the theme) after that I lose it big time.
I have heard a version by that canadian french bassist Alain Caron which is very funky.
-
well..it looks like the seller could use the cash(couldn't we all), this one has been verified by the Man on the Stanley site (http://www.stanleyclarke.com/interactive/showthread.php?tid=49 target=_blank)
...too bad we have to part with precious things for our precious health.
This would be great for studio art, for those that aren't hurting for cash that is.
-
I'd like to have an expert verify my John Enwistle autograph. I know it's genuine, but if I want to sell it, I have to show proof to the potential buyer.
-
Rami,
...start collecting photographs of examples from ebay, that'd help.
There is an entwistle signed alembic up now if I'm not mistaken. He always has a very playful nature to his signature and artwork/doodles.
-
That's an excellent idea. Here's a picture I found on Ebay for a John Entwistle signature Bass pick:

This was a comercially available mass produced item, so it's an acurate representation of his signature. Here are my pics:

For the record, I know 100% for sure that it's authentic, because it was given to me as a gift by a close friend and manager of a prominent music store who met John Entwistle at a NAMM show where he acquired it. I took the pictures with my cell phone, so the resolution's not that great. But you can still make a good comparison. (Message edited by rami on July 11, 2008)

nice!
I have John's conn tuner from the 70's...I've been collecting photo's that show it on stage in the background...hard to prove still...we know things like this and your catalogue warm the heart.
...long live the Dancing master ( I still can't picture John dancing) : )
