I'm very sorry for your loss Greg. Some of us have been through the departure of our beloved mothers. May you find strength and comfort in family and friends and grieve as it comes to you. Even now we are grieving with you in our small way as we remember those who were dear to us.

Sorry about your mother Greg. Like others here, I lost my mother too. My mother passed away 15 years ago on the day before my birthday. So we understand in our own ways. It's a lousy thing for anyone, but it's true that time heals. The pain will go, but the good memories will stay.

I have known this too many times this decade.

Awful news, Greg. We are a couple days away from the seventh anniversary of my mother's passing. Though not proven, I believe she was also a victim of medical error. I was 150 miles away at the time and had a about 15 minutes between hearing she was in trouble and that she was gone at age 56. She was a police/fire/ambulance dispatcher in Yonkers, NY and I think losing many friends and acquaintances in 9/11 a month earlier took away some of her will to fight.
It is a horrible loss whenever a close relative passes, and so much more painful when it is avoidable and cuts a life short. Take care of yourself and keep your head screwed on straight through the tough time that is sure to follow. There's a light at the end of the tunnel and, though it will never be as bright as it was, it will be better than it is today.

Greg,
Two weeks ago I lost a friend to depression. Laura took her own life by jumping from a bridge. Despite her untimely passing (she was only 19) and the shocking circumstances of her death, I find it impossible to be completely swallowed by grief because I can always think of the moments we had when we were smiling together, even when she was at the darkest part of her depression.
I know loosing a parent is a different experience all together, but I think the same idea can apply. She is never completely gone as long as she is in your heart and in your mind.
All the best,
-Robin
-
Robin, sorry about Laura. It's extremely frustrating when someone self-destructs and you can't do anything about it. I have a brother who's doing that now. Life can be tough, so you've got to make the most of what you can.

Gregory; you and your family are in my heart.
-
Greg,
I,m still hoping and praying for you.
Robin
The pain is there, but time will heal. I've been going through a lot of it recently, as has been other members of the club.
ALWAYS remember the good times!!!
NEVER mourne the death of someone! Celebrate their life!!
That's what I've been told, and am trying to do at the moment.
Geez, all of us together can get through the bad times.
We are ALL thinking of you guys!!!
Love

Thanks everyone, it really helps. I have fond memories of her that will live on, I knew she wouldnt be around forever, but I was hoping she would be here for a few more years...the circumstances of the death are what are most upsetting. By all appearences it was a medical error, and to top it off someone at the hospital has stolen her purse!! (there were many items of sentimental value in there)...
Once again, thanks for the thoughts, and to those members going through similar rough times, and who have lost people close to them recently, my heart goes out to you as much as it can at the moment....
-
Greg you are in my prayers as well. Remember this is a family; although, most of us have never met, we enjoy a connection that transcends the physical. Our common love for music, the universal language, connects us in a unique way. I thank this community for their love and concern for one another.

Greg,
My condolences. Godspeed to your Mom.

My deepest sympathy to you and your family, Greg. I lost my Mom to Sepsis 4 years ago. I miss her of course but she would have hated a long term hospitalization.
It's strange but I know she's happy now. And, I do think only of the good times - there were so many.
Peace to you, Alembic brother

Greg:
2007 and 2008 have brought the loss of my father, my brother, my uncle, and my mother-in-law. I don't know any easy fix for the emotional upheaval such losses bring. I feel they are still with me. And I continue, one day at a time. Music has helped a lot. My sincerest condolences to you and your family. Peace.

Kevin,
Please, without knowing the facts of Greg's mom's clinical course, let's just keep this a supportive thread and leave the shouts of lawsuits out of it.
Greg...my sincerest condolences to you and your family.
Regards,
Jonathan
