Who are you supporting?

This is not an appropriate question for the club as it violates the rule on political discussions. It is also the type of thing that tends to divide folks due to the emotional/personal nature of politics.

However it is quite appropriate to encourage everyone eligible to vote to do so.

Or we could say much better luck to one over the other, just leave it anonymous. I live in L.A. and I have NEVER seen so many people in line at polling places. Reportedly 14% of registered voters in L.A. county voted early. Thats about 1/3 of what a typical total turnout has been in the past. This election has been so charged, that it appears we may set some records for voter turnout. Am I excited, am I nervous? you betcha! Oh yeah, who am I voting for? The next president!

Vote early, vote often.  (Nah, maybe just the once).  I am a dirty commie pinko leftist (sorry mods if this goes too far), but I want a democracy where everyone participates.  I sincerely hope that everyone votes who is eligible, regardless of their political affiliation.  I truly believe everyone is working for what we perceive as the greater good, even if we differ on the methodology.

Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve.  -George Bernard Shaw

In 1980 Bob Weir announced Bill Kreutzmann's write-in candidacy during a tuning break (Milwaukee Civic Arena or Alpine Valley, I disremember which) - I can assure you he got at least one vote (ah, to be young & idealistic - now I don't vote for the best candidate, I vote for the possible winner who'll do less damage)

In the 55 years I have walked (and crawled) this planet, I registered and then voted for the first time today.  Things in this country have slipped so far that I decided I have to start helping as best I can.  However, when I looked over the candidates for President and saw Ralph Nader on it, I went against the strong impulse to put my mark next to his name.  I let the logic of my vote counting for nothing by voting on someone who could not win, get cast for the person I figured was the lesser of two evils.  My apologies Ralph.  Next time my vote is definitely yours, though I again will know you can never win . . .  Go Ralph!

Actually, I find politics more boring (And by far more disjusting!) that watching my front lawn grow.

Ralph is the man, I owe him an apology too.
He should be a cabinet member in the least.

(Thanks for the seat belts and everything else)

I voted for Ralph in 2000.  I still think he should be in government.

Let's see . . .  Bob or Ralph . . .  ?  Bob or Ralph . . .  ?  Bob or Ralph . . .  ?  Bob or Ralph . . .  ?  Bob or Ralph . . .  ?  Bob or Ralph . . .  ?  Bob or Ralph . . .  ?   Bob or Ralph . . .  ?  Bob or Ralph . . .  ?  Bob or Ralph . . .  ?  Bob or Ralph . . .  ?  Bob or Ralph . . .  ?  Bob or Ralph . . .  ?  Bob or Ralph . . .  ?  Bob or Ralph . . .  ?  Bob or Ralph . . .  ?  Bob or Ralph . . .  ?

You know, after much deliberation and many, many mini-ponderings, I believe Ralph may just have a change to win in 2012!!!  Alright Ralph!

Will others be running, too?  Damn!
