Title: EV 12L's/Beyma Liberty's vs. JBL e 120's

Anyone have any thoughts on whether the EV's or Beyma's are a good substitute for the JBL's, if I'm looking for a late 80's very early 90's Jerry tone?

I haven't tried the Beymas, but the EVMs have a very different sound. They sound good, but they don't have the chime and ring that the JBLs have. They will, however, last longer. I have found that EVMs put up with an astonishing amount of abuse.
