Title: Persuader electronics upgrade
Post by: texangerbil on March 10, 2008, 05:07:31 AM
Hi there. Sorry if this is posting in the wrong place - feel free to correct me. I have an 88 Persuader 5-string with 2 Jazz Activators in it and Vol-Vol-Filter controls. I'd like to upgrade the electronics to Vol-Blend-Filter + Q-switch. How much is this likely to cost?

I was really surprised at the low costs for modifying the electronics from my Spoiler a couple of years ago - it won't cost you an arm and a leg.

I would ask how much more it would be for adding another filter and Q switch. Also consider getting 3-way Q switches - I recommend 0/3/6 dB.

If your Persuader has a single pre-amp it might be good to have a separate pre-amp per pickup, although that would probably add considerably to the costs.

Nigel,
You should contact Alembic directly to discuss this. Only they can determine the cost of upgrading the electronics plus they can be sure what you are wishing to do will fit your bass.
