Title: Sex Drive
Post by: gregduboc on February 13, 2011, 09:56:42 AM
Okay, do not misunderstand the thread topic!!
Does anyone here own a Durham Sex Drive (http://durhamelectronics.com/sexdrive.html) boost pedal? I'm thinking about getting one for live and studio applications, and I've heard they have great compression and tone. Any thoughts on this pedal??

Lol, I'm starting to guess that if this thread was about this Little Shack you are talking about, I would've gotten way more replies!

I have never seen one of these, let alone auditioned it... but the youtube link provided by Durham makes it seem very appealing.
Lately I have been stocking up on clean boosts and overdrives and have become enamored of two:
Xotic EP Booster, and Phat Tone by Carson Lane FX.
The Xotic is very, very clean with some added low end, and sounds a lot like this Sexdrive. The Phat Tone definitely has some grit in it, but not to the point I would call it an overdrive. I named mine True Grit, and I think Mike Stephens at Carson Lane is going to adopt that name for it.
Neither of them muck up your sound.
Happy hunting!
