Title: Monitor blowing fuses
Post by: terryc on May 13, 2011, 09:22:13 AM
Our powered monitor is blowing the internal fuse when we switch it on..everytime.
Is it;-
The power supply(or smoothing capacitors)
The amp module
the speaker
Methinks it is the PS but I could be wrong..I haven't checked the transformer yet with a meter but your suggestions would be very useful
I await your response..thank you gents
We have a spare so gigs are no problem

Something like this is very difficult to diagnose over a long distance. It could be any number of things, I'd get it to a tech who can get his hands on it and see what's really going on.

Terry, check the bridge diodes in the power supply section. A simple continuity test w/ your meter should tell you if they fried.... From my experience they're usually the culprit.
