What else can you say about the guy?  I'm a huge fan, and what a hoot that he's such a student of guitars and their players.

Of course, JB is also a huge car guy, very well-known among the West Coast guys.  He also builds his own rods, does most of the work.  Here's a link from Barry Meguiar's (yep, the Meguiar car wax Meguiar) syndicated CAR CRAZY show, with him and JB talking cars:

Very cool.  And since he's Jeff Beck & I'm not, I'll cut him some slack for calling the ES-175-D an L-5.  But I will slap him for handling such beautiful instruments with those zippers on his shirt!

I met Jeff very briefly sometime in the 70's when my eldest brother was living near him somewhere in south London. At the time he was driving around in a Bucket T that blew me away. I'm pretty sure it would have been 77 or 78 - I recall visiting a custom car show at Olympia the same trip and seeing Andy's Pie Wagon - the custom van that john bonham can be seen driving in the song remains the same. Always wanted one of those crazy model T's with a huge blower blocking my view. Sadly I'm stuck with my MG (still in a zillion pieces).
