Just got back from Fur Peace Ranch where I had a class with George Porter, Jr. That man is Phonky.
We were trying to decide just what is Funk. I still don't exactly know, but it has something to do with placement of notes, placement of silence, syncopation, and attitude. (That, and a token, will get you on the subway.)

That explanation is similar to when I was getting a Reggae Bass lesson from a Jamaican Reggae Musician , he told me  OK man you got the idea but you have to tie a knot in it !  He was really cool  and  fun to jam with and a great person . I had lots of fun , and learned some about  the grooove !
