Title: My Alembic nearly goes to New Orleans
Post by: Glynn on October 10, 2011, 09:11:08 AM
I wonder if this is the first Alembic to play in a New Orleans style band?  It is one of the bands I play for and yesterday we started a small jazz club near Daventry UK.  We all played for nothing and entrance was free.  Turn out was good and we played some really old standards.  Nobody cried 'Where's the Double Bass?' so happy days!Glynn(http://club.alembic.com/Images/449/114546.jpg)

This looks like a good time, Lots of fun ! However the headstock of your Alembic looks very close in proximity to the bell of the Trumpet (ouch !  for the Trumpet players lip)   I am sure this is just  a depth of field issue of my perception of the photo.   I would have loved to hear this band in person .

Speaking of traditional New Orleans jazz in Europe, if you haven't seen this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXKDu6cdXLI) yet, it's pretty cool.
