Just realized I was on 4999, so this is my 5000th post! I've really enjoyed this forum over the last seven years. Thanks to all of you who I have come to think of as good friends and especially thanks to the Wickershams who have graciously let us hang out in their virtual living room.

Wow, Bill. It's nice to have you around! No, I'm not trying to boost my post count, I swear!

Bill ,
Congratulations on the BIG 5K!!!!!

Congrats bill. I still have some way to go to catch up but at least I'm younger than you so I have some time :-)

Wow, congrats Bill! I lurked for a couple of years prior, but I think I register on the club around the same time....
To the Wickershams and our moderators for hosting such a wonderful community!

Just 226 more and you will be half way to catching up with Dave. Congrats.

Congrats, Bill.
I'll add my thanks to the Alembic family and forum members, who make this a place eminently worth returning to and sharing.
Happy holidays all!

Excellent milestone, Bill. Good to know you. Good to know ALL of you through the fine work and diligence of all associated with Alembic. Thank you for letting me be a part of your lives as well.

Nicely done, sir! I will have to buy you a drink next week when I am in town. Want to go to the mothership Tuesday/Wednesday?
Nick

Hey Nick , you are coming down to the Bay Area ? Kool !

Mini gathering? Not trying to hijack your page,Bill!
-
Sure , I would think a mini gathering would be swell .
-
if you're planning mini gatherings, try to get one together for the end of september next year. I'll be in the S.F. area for a week or so.

Nick:
I'd love to get together. Not sure about the trip north, I'll have to check my calendar when I get into the office later this morning. In any case you, Wolf, and anyone else in the area are certainly welcome to come by the house, hang out, and mess around in my studio.

Thanks , It will be fun !

Thanks , I will wait to hear or read of the details of the occasion from you or Nick.

That sounds great. I will be there for at least a week. I will send an e-mail to you both today with phone #, etc. Good times!

Hm, I'm on Christmas break, maybe I should drive out there for this. It's been a while since I've had a road trip!
Congrats, Bill!
-
Edwin:
Come on out! I promise it will be more fun than law school. hehehehe
Bill, tgo
-
Come on out, Edwin. We have plenty of space for you to stay, and the jam would be incredable!Would Dawn be able to join you?
Nick
-
I'll have to see if I can make this more than a fantasy. Dawn has to work right up until Christmas and I have some research obligations to handle. How long will you be in the Bay Area?
I'd fly, but then it gets expensive and crazy trying to bring instruments. So, I'll have to calculate driving costs and make sure my car is up to it.
It would be so fun, I miss the Bay Area a lot and have a bunch of friends and some family to visit!
-
I will be there from the 19th till the 26th. Instruments are no problem. Plenty of those. Let me know if you need a ride from the airport if you can't drive, etc... Let's figure this out! Bill, are you going to get that sick early S1? love the knobby headstock. I would love to have it if you are giving away X-mas presents ;-)
Nick

The only day that wouldn't work for me is the 26th.
I've posted to serface/Chris' thread to see if he is interested in a PRS I have. The knobby would be a cool companion to my '77 Series I 12 string with knobby headstock. I've got a couple of basses you guys could fool around with, if you want. An Epic 5 fretless and a cheap but decent Schecter. Wolf/Sonicus has some sweet basses. And, of course, I have lots-o-guitars. Edwin, I have an early 70's Starfire IV that might almost make you feel at home as much as a guitar can. A mini holiday gathering might just be the ticket!
Bill, tgo
-
If I can make it out, at least my Starfire has to come with me. I'm hoping to get the filters completely installed tomorrow. Should be doable in a few hours.
I do have to run the whole idea past my wife first and there might some resistance there.
-
I will definitly have my SII 405 with me. It will be cool to see it next to your 12 string, Bill. Edwin, if you bring your starfire and Wolf has his with him, plus Bill's.... I need to get my hands on a Guild, and fast! Then we could have two gatherings!
Is there a Guild page?
I am still toying with the idea of grabbing that green 6 string from Mica next week. I sold 4 instruments this month. I deserve a treat!

It was just pointed out to me in another thread that I hit 1000 posts! Congrats Bill, you're way ahead of me!
I've got the knobby-headed double-neck and a couple of Guilds - can I come too?
-
Just got in to San Rafeal. I will call you tomorrow, Bill. Harry, you are always welcome. I think I still owe you a beer. I am going to create a new post in gatherings for this.
-
Congrats Bill! What an awesome milestone!
