Kind of stretching putting this in the "basses & guitars" section, but it seemed like the most appropriate place. I was looking at the inside cover of the recent re-release of the Grateful Dead's Blues for Allah and found this picture of Keith Godchaux:

Hmm, look closer:

I remember reading that David Gilmour's F-2B was wired differently for guitar, wonder if this one was "wired for keyboard"? Also, what's that box on top? (Message edited by hieronymous on April 07, 2008)

maybe a direct/splitter for the soundboard?
good eye...
I just got the book The Grateful Dead,An Illustrated Trip and it's full of neat pics and info...it's a few pounds and a beautiful book.

You would think he could at least duct tape it down! ;)
-
...looks like the bottom plate has been removed from the F2-b.
-
Anyone know where this show was? Looks like maybe Golden Gate Park when the Dead and Starship did a free gig celebrating 10 years. If so, I was there. Man, brings back memories of being a young lad.

What makes you think the bottom plate has been removed?
Edwin
And where the heck is my SF2?????
-
this got me thinkin... hows about his style on row jimmy on wake of the flood... switching between the rhodes and the clavinet... pretty amazing playing.never in way that was cluttered.
-
edwin,
...it appears you can see the inside of the chassis; back right corner.
hows that Search For the sf-2 goin?
-
For me, Unbroken Chain comes to mind.

Somehow I think the no bottom plate is an optical illusion. There's no way to see the bottom at that angle.
I found my SF-2! What was great was that I also found the power supply. It was right where it should have been, while the SF-2 was not, although it was more or less hidden in plain sight. Nice to have it back!
