Jim has passed on aged 88. report here (http://www.musicradar.com/news/guitars/jim-marshall-dies-aged-88-538243).
My second amp was a marshall 100watt lead/bass thing that I blew up. I still carry a 300 watt Jubilee head to weddings in case my main amp dies. It sounds great.

Another great loss but like Leo, he changed the face of rock music.
My son has Jim Marshall's autograph on a Jimi Hendrix poster when Jim was at our local guitar show a few yeas ago,
A sad day indeed
RIP Jim

Yes- my son has a Jim Marshall autograph but not on Jimi Hendrix - I think it was just on a Marshall poster. Another legend. Glynn

For someone who helped shape modern rock music in Britain in the 60's and onwards the BBC never gave him a mention on the evening news. B******s!
