Title: This is quite an interesting read.

I've just been checking out the Clarke Copeland band tour this year and found this Web Downloaded Rider for 2012 for the band. It's and interesting read especially the stuff relating to audio requirements (* the mix is bass  heavy) and back line requirements.

I noticed that the required stage dimensions read thirty [30] feet in width by twenty [20] feet in length....
Shades of Spinal Tap's Stonehenge?

Last gig I did which was a couple of weeks back,  all we got back stage for the rider was bottled water, which we had to ask for,  and use of the staff coffee machine. And there was probably a couple of thousand people in the venue.

I noted the discrepanies, too.  Thought maybe they were there as a did-you-read-it check a la Van Halen's notorious remove-the-brown-ones M&Ms clause; if the Purchaser doesn't ask for clarification, you watch like a hawk/straighten them out.  Or maybe they're just not teaching as well the last generation or 2.......

[edited to fix the misspell in my post that questions our children's/grandchildren's education.....]

I love the 'NO mention of The Police' part;  what wouldja give to pay a go-fer $20 to go find Stewart in the dressing room beforehand and tell him 'Mr. Copeland, Sting wanted me to ask you if he could sit in . . . . yes sir, he's right outside . . .'

Earlier responses to this thread would seem to indicate that people may think that Clarke and Copeland (or at least their management) are being a bit too uppity. But if you look on page #9 under DINNER H. you will see that it's nothing of the sort. Under desert, the contract reads/stipulates: Desert: cookies, cakes, pies, WERE FLEXIBLE.  Haha!
