Cool! I love the early Weather Report albums. This live DVD from 1971 is awesome - Miroslav gets a great tone from his P-Bass!

It really opened up my eyes - this version of the band can be pretty aggressive! I've got the Japanese 2 CD release of the Live in Tokyo album, the live DVD gave me a greater appreciation of the CD.

I agree that it was the early Weather report that was the best: Weather Report, I Sing the Body Electric, and Sweetnighter are my choices. I saw them in concert ages ago at Wesleyan University in Middletown Connecticut. They played in an all purpose' room with seating on the floor to a crowd over only about 150 listeners. My luck, between sets they mingled with the crowd and I got to talk with Miroslav, Wayne, and Joe Zawinul for about 20 minutes.
Unfortunately at school my room mates would always crack that their music sounded like a bunch of instruments tossed down a flight of stairs so for 4-years as an undergraduate I spent a lot of time listening to them through my headphones.

I have them all and at the age of 15 when I began to move away from the 'rock scene'(Deep Purple, Sabbath, Yes etc) then my friends would also take the piss too..mind you Mahavishnu went down well, maybe because there was a guitarist in them!!
