Title: Mu Tron Micro V
Post by: sjhoffma on August 28, 2012, 07:18:09 PM
This baby just arrived today, straight out of 1976!  The box has some wear, but the pedal itself was still mint in the plastic!  I've had an EH micro Qtron for years, but decided to treat myself to an original.   This one has more simplistic controls than the more popular mutron III, and takes up half the space on the pedal board, but MAN this thing has some warmth and thickness to it!  Not sure how many of you have played one before, (as opposed to the mutron III or one of the many reissues) but the combination of this baby and a series I is a recipe for some SERIOUS funkkk. The difference between the Electro Harmonix version and this thing is unreal! I will never be able to go back!

Too cool.  I have an EH Bi-Filter which is pretty cool.  I don't use it much anymore though.  Maybe for the studio down the road.  My Korg GT-10B is way more flexible for every day stuff.  Great that you found an original.  I'm jealous.

Brian,

Lark Street Music recently got a whole collection of mutron stuff... some of it was still mint in the box, some of it showed a little more use, but it was all priced pretty reasonably. Snagged this guy for $300, which I thought was great considering I've seen these go for about the same in pretty poor condition.

Mine even came with the original Mutron Sticker hiding in the pages of the warranty card...

Here's what they seemed to have in stock (though I believe the Mutron III has been sold as well)

I don't know what the current value of that stuff is, but when I worked at NJAMS in Vancouver 10 years ago, a haul like that in that condition looks like THOUSANDS...WOW, you never see that stuff in that condition anymore...wow, I would love to just play through it once...Tony

Ooh..effect pedal pornography..I love it!!!
Doesn't that stuff look so funky as compared to modern pedals..I have a Mini Q Tron which not only sounds great but looks good too.
