This particular year, I have a more personal relationship to it as a recording I made for Imagine Dragons this past summer at Independent Records in Denver is being released as RSD only release on Interscope Records. My first label release! it was a bit of a surprise as I sent them the multitrack files and a very quick and dirty reference rough mix in September and I found out a couple weeks ago that they're using the rough mix. I figured that a signed band would do their own mixing or at least get me to do one with a bit more care.

Meanwhile, I'm playing a 4/20 celebration tomorrow, which should be interesting now that it's legal and all in Colorado. Sort of. Given that I'm not a partaker these days, it's all academic to me, but it will be interesting to see how this whole thing plays out. Part of me is thinking that legalization will actually crack down on it a little more since now it will be more in the spotlight and spur lawmaking entities, both state and municipal, to regulate and enforce more strictly. Then there's that pesky federal issue.
