Title: Home sweet home
Post by: cozmik_cowboy on June 27, 2013, 08:44:41 PM
So, I stumbled upon another forum and, being a guitar geek, was drawn into it.  I have just had someone assure me, several times and rather snarkily, that not only he, but you, I, & everyone else as well, cannot hear any difference between an all-maple and an all-mahogany solid-body.
Did I mention he was snarky about it?

I love you folks.

I can safely say that I could hear the difference between two basses that are essentially the same except for top and back woods. One was maple the other walnut. The maple had a brighter sound compared to the walnut. I will agree however not all people will be able to hear the difference due to the uniqueness of their auditory system.

All basses sound the same through a crappy amp and the highs rolled off.

Give me an Alembic (or Rick) any day through a Kickin' clean amp/cab.

I'm jamming with a metal band (for the first time) and they love the Alembic tone.

And - yes - huge difference between a maple and mahogany instrument.

And - glad you love us.  I love y'all too!!!!!
