Title: First sighting of the prototype Mark King Signature Balance D bass
Post by: jazzyvee on October 12, 2013, 03:29:59 AM
Wow a new Mark King signature Balance D.
I think though that this is a bit ruff! and has a growl at the bottom end a bit sloppy at the top. Probably more use for taking to dodgy venues only.

Jazzy:

I played one of those once.  It originally had ten strings, but one broke, so it was a Mark King Balance K-9.  A truly hairy experience. Before the gig, the entire band stood up and shook hands.  It was SF Sound night, so we started to play Dead, but then the conductor called for a short paws in the song, after which he unleashed the full fury of the band.  Oh, it was quite a tail to tell!  You should've been there.

Bill, tgo

Crown headstock is a nice touch.
