Title: Looking for old Gretsch Mini Knob?
Post by: lbpesq on January 15, 2014, 02:23:03 PM
I picked up a 70's Gretsch Chet Atkins Super Axe at the Bay Area Guitar Show last weekend.  It's missing one of its mini knobs.  Any chance anyone around here knows of a source for a replacement knob that matches the mini knobs Gretsch used in the late 70's?  Bill, tgo

Dang Bill, that's no Alembic but sure looks super sweet!
I am curious as to how it sounds with the built in phaser and compressor.

That doesn't look like anything exclusive, so you may be able to find it at a good OLD electronics store...Tony...cool find!

You should have a look at this website:

They nearly have everything in vintage parts.

Nice score, Bill!  A HS friend of mine briefly had one of those (he was a buyer/seller type; everything he had was briefly), and it was a great instrument.

Interesting that Chet Atkins endorsed an instrument with effects (doodads). He always seemed to be more of a purist.
