It's being reported that Paco De Lucia has died suddenly at the age of 66.
bbc news (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-26351251)
I'm quite shocked at this news. I've loved his playing since I first heard him in the 70's.

Sad, sad news. Less than a week ago we Venezuelans also felt the loss of Sim?n D?az, a folklore singer-songwriter-cultor with an utterly long and important career, and author of Caballo Viejo (Old Horse), which is probably the most covered venezuelan song worldwide (Heck, even Ray Conniff, Julio Iglesias and the Gipsy Kings covered it!). Me, being born in Venezuela but of a direct Spanish heritage, grew up listening a lot to both, so there are sad news from both sides of my musical heritage. Besides his Entre Dos Aguas an Almoraima albums (which were played until ripping into pieces at home), I was specially shocked (for good!) when, back when I started studying guitar, got my hands on then new Passion, Grace & Fire album of Paco with DiMeola and McLaughlin. It was a total blast!. RIP Paco.
