I just noticed there's a free ebook (http://www.amazon.com/Golden-Road-Beyond-Grateful-Primer-ebook/dp/B00G0062O2/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1405715579&sr=1-1&keywords=grateful+dead) at Amazon from/about the Grateful Dead.  I just downloaded it, and haven't read it yet; but the reviews suggest this is a compilation of the introductions to the GD studio album boxed sets, though the estimated length is 134 pages.  But so far the best part is it's free.
