Title: Mullard - The Blackburn Vacuum Tubes Factory
Post by: sonicus on February 10, 2015, 07:44:48 PM
This was posted in the Ampex List ( another forum that I am part of)

This long documentary shows how tubes ( valves) were made.

Mullard has a very high rating among many tube fans

I enjoyed the vid , perhaps someone else here will as well .

There is a rumour that amongst the disused and abandoned RAF/Army/Navy warehouses/stores areas in the UK there are hundreds if not thousands of these Mullard tubes stored away as they were used in all the RF equipment.
Would be a helluva barn find!!

Thanks for sharing.

Arguably the holy grail of vacuum tubes. Magic in old Marshalls and Voxes.

Cha-CHINGGGGGG to whoever finds that stash in the UK and is savvy enough to realize what they've found.

Hopefully they won't get tossed against the warehouse walls just to watch them shatter...
