Happy B-day Wolf! Now we are the same age (at least for another 3 1/2 weeks). Enjoy 59 - it's a great age and, more importantly, it sure beats the alternative!
hehehehe
Bill, tgo

Bill, Thanks !

Many Happy Returns Wolf, but you're catching me: I'll be 60 Wednesday. Obviously, all the cool people are born in March!
I can NOT believe I'm this old. But I am a most fortunate person, and have no complaints, except to paraphrase Ronnie Wood's song, 'I wish I knew then what I know now when I was younger', and am so fortunate to have met all of you.

Happy Birthday Wolf!

Hi Wolf - cool date for a birthday! Especially this year - 3/14/15!
-
Joey ,
Happy Birthday my friend ! Yes , if I would have known a few things decades ago I might have done some earlier Intonation of life's dynamics in some regards . We both have gone down that path it seems , We Survived. I as you have no complaints either at this time. I am glad to have met you too .
Dave , Thanks !
Harry , Thanks ! We should jam sometime since we are local .

I celebrate PI day by eating two great slices of pie

Peter, Thank you !
Fifty-Nine its self does not seem to be such a big trip without my realization that the next integer is Sixty ! Is there is any logic in the emotional aspect of my perception that Sixty will feel like a milestone accomplishment as apposed to Fifty-Nine ? OR , in theory is this just a case of On Sale For Ninety-Nine Cents ? We can refer to this from here on as The Ninety-Nine Cents Theory
To all of you friends here that are about to become Sixty Years of age I send my sincere heartfelt Happy Birthday wishes of brotherly acknowledgment of accomplishment of the Zeitgeist verity . We have both seen and experienced the same Movies and Tunes of life with our own eyes and ears within our own unique perceptions. Emotionally ;Fifty-Nine going on Sixty is starting feel like Twenty-Nine going on Thirty !
Human perceptions are a such a TRIP !
It is highly probable that an equation will not be found for these perceptions except for i
The imaginary unit or imaginary number, denoted as i
Conceptually;_____ If we embrace our existence as a huge radius in tune with the universe and congruent with its dimensional presence instead of a straight line with incremental integers with a finite start and end we cannot get old, just infinitely present locked in without time, forever on our souls journey in the path of the radius.

Happy belated Pi day Wolf. I enjoy your posts here. Didn't take long to realize you're one of the elder statesmen among Alembicans. =)
Interestingly enough, I use Pi almost daily in my job, calculating volume of spheres and cylinders... I usually carry out four decimal places for accuracy, which is 3.1415 - it'll be a while before that day happens again.
Many happy returns. =)
-
Same to you Joey!
-
Thank you Gregory , I enjoy your posts as well .
-
Sonicus..ZEITGEIST..too heavy for me man!
I hope that doesn't mean we do it again with the same outcome 'cos I would change a lot of things if I had the chance!
-
Terry , Zeitgeist ; You and I have common ground as we experienced many of the same in music and art and culture with both of us living in the same time frame.
What wisdom that we have gained due to advancing age is a separate issue. In retrospect I too might have handled a few things differently in my life if I would have had a service manual and schematic diagram on my self as a young man. Back then I just did not know who to watch my rear wheel spin and watch the road simultaneously. That is not so easy to do . ( still difficult to do )
Wolf
-
Happy belated, Wolf. You're still younger than I, if that's any consolation.
Live Long And Prosper.
-
Thanks Rob , Live Long And Prosper . We were so much older then , were younger then that now !
-
Wolf -
Hope it was a good one filled with Pi, cake, pedals/spokes and lotsa clean, clear low end.
Just a few of the round things that make life worth living - along with a circle of good friends to share 'em with!
BTW: I too enjoy your presence here.
-
David, Thank you , I too enjoy your presence here. My Birthday was filled with all the above that you mentioned in your post and some nice unexpected surprises later in the day. I had a really nice Pi Day Birthday.
-
Sonicus..yeah I agree, reflection is a great tool for reassessment.
Since my minor medical scare I walk daily around the area where I live(since karate is off the menu temporarily at the moment) and where I live was once open spaces with fields which have now gone and been replaced by housing. I think back then when I walked with my daughter and our dog for hours on end, where did that time all go, seems fresh in my mind but to never return.
Still the experience has served us all well!
-
Terry , I trust that your recovery is going well and I am glad of that . I hope that you are recovering well .
I agree that our personal experiences pave our road to writing our own users manuals . I keep adding new chapters and supplements to mine . The index often needs updating so that I can get to the related issues quickly. I can totally relate to your story of walking in open spaces and now it's all changed and gone and not always for the better . However my friend we can tell others about it now and how it once was .

Hello everybody !
I went to the Ocean Beach, Cliff House/ Old Playland At The Beach and the Golden Gate Park areas in San Francisco on my Birthday. I am drawn to those areas in San Francisco because I spent my youth there, The Ocean Beach area has changed quite a bit. I remember Play Land , it was an amusement park complete with roller coaster ,A Fun House with scary laughing mechanical people and lots of other stuff. I remember the site where Chet Helms had The Family Dog. I went there many times and saw many great musical acts as a teen ager . It was all in my neighborhood and Old Stomping Ground ! Now it's all Condos and nothing. However I was really delighted to see many Ravens there on my Birthday ! Really Ravens !

Happy belated birthday, Wolf!
Pi day is a great day to have a birthday on. I'm not a mathematician by trade, nor am I into numerology, but things like Pi and especially the fibonnaci sequence fascinate me. Love finding examples of the Fibonnaci or Golden Spiral in nature!!

Thanks Toby ! I saw these two old bicycles during a " Walk in the Park " by the restored Old Windmill by the Wilhelmina Garden

Wolf; the Santana video was great!
And I'm enjoying reading the rock archaeology thread.
-
Wow Wolf, sounds like a great way to spend the day! It was warm to hot over here in the east bay - actually, I was way out in the Delta in Walnut Grove through the early afternoon - got lost in the winding levee roads on the way back though - I stopped when I had 8 more miles to go on an unpaved road!
We should definitely get together and jam sometime - meeting once a year at the Gathering isn't enough! My rig is kind of up and running - hit a snag when my drummer suddenly left, but wouldn't take too much effort to maintain my pedalboard in playable condition.
-
Dave , I am glad you like it . Santana's percussionists were wonderful and later all had many other noteworthy involvements.
Harry , sounds good. We should talk about it some more soon . I have some ideas .
-
Belated Birthday wishes Wolf!
-
Thank you , Art .
-
Hey, JOEY!! Happy Birthday! (And a belated one to you as well, sonicus!!)

Thanks
