I hope you are all safe. My heart goes out to you all as well .
I send my best wishes .
Several years ago a tornado took away the 200 year old farm house on a farm owned by my family in Missouri . Everyone was safe but in shock when they climbed out of the storm cellar when they look around at the destruction.

Thank God you are OK! You should move to Dallas then you will be closer to the Gathering when we have them!
-
Yikes!
Glad to hear you escaped unscathed (again).
But - to Rusty's point - I'd be thinkin' seriously 'bout uprooting & relocating by choice before being uprooted and relocated by force...
-
Bourbon should help your nerves.
Glad to hear basses and your house are ok.
-
Glad to hear that you are okay.

Move! seriously, with global warming that kinda stuff will become regular; you don't want to be blase~ about tornadoes, that is serious 'don't live here stuff'...weather roulette is crazy, though many practice it...Tony

Hey David,
I saw the weather reports (the DFW stations jump all over any sign of serious weather within 200 miles). Glad to know that you and yours were bypassed once again. Don't know how you put up with that.

everyone says move, here's the problem, my house is almost paid for, property value's are down, no one wants to move to Moore, the only thing that's going up is insurance, but don't kid yourself, tornado can hit anywhere at any time, earthquakes are becoming a problem in Oklahoma too. it's like the Eagles sang in the Last Resort, call someplace paradise, kiss it goodbye.

David,
Disasters can happen anywhere, I grew up on Long Island and never dreamed a Hurricane Sandy could happen. And happen it did. I was told a 5' river flowed on my old street. I live in Florida now in a spot Hurricanes usually don't hit. hmmmm?
West coast earthquakes and volcanos. Heck the largest recorded earthquake was on the Mississippi. I truly hope you had hit your quota and can live in relative peace.

'earthquakes are becoming a problem in Oklahoma too' How come that it is increasingly a problem in Olkahoma then?

Zom,
That is a good question; Teutonic plates shifting would be the quick answer.
But touching on a different note, Global Weirding and mankind's impact on this planet (can you say fracking?) cannot be dismissed when discussing the strange weather patterns and 'natural' phenomena that have been occurring.
As the great philosopher Pogo once said; We have met the enemy, and he is us..

Other than 5 (+/-) months of 100? + temps and the occasional monsoon downpour - Arizona ain't too bad.
Gotta watch out fer critters like snakes, spiders and scorpions...
But that beats funnel clouds, tidal waves, cracks in the earth and LAVA...
