Whoa -- just had to pick myself off the floor, because I pretty much fainted right out of my computer chair when I saw this beauty. One of the most spectacular guitars I've ever seen, anywhere, any time.
Congrats to both the owner and the creators! Wow!

This is a beaut and with such personal sentiments attatched to it, it makes it all the more special. What other luthier would go to all this effort and to such high quality. Just another reason why Alembic are the best!
Congrats!

In all honesty..this has to be musical woodworking at its finest!
John.

Jonathan:
That slab of Buckeye Burl is sick! And I love the silver binding around the fret markers - wish I'd thought of that. So, a custom for each kid? Can you afford twins!!!! lol
Play it in the best of health.

How original
I love it

My 76 Series 1 bass has silver surrounds around Abalone inlays.
Would that count as a Custom way back then???
-
The body shape is breathtakingly beautiful! Can't wait to see a bass like this ;-)

Man, that is drop dead gorgeous!
I LOVE Buckeye Burl and how unique each piece is , and that top is as nice as any I've ever seen!
Hope it brings you many many years of enjoyment.

Thanks guys for all the kind words. This is quite a special instrument for me. It's the exact shape I always wanted my Alembic to be. Don't get me wrong, I love the Little Bear. But you have to be quite secure in your masculinity to play a Little Darling! This one is a fair bit larger. My newest daughter's guitar (which I hope to start working on soon) will be a cross between Big Stubby and the Little Bear.

Congrats Jonathan!!!

What a beautiful guitar! It looks like it has a perfect balance: The neck to body, the width, I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes a new popular body style. I also think designing / dedicating a guitar to each of your children is a very special act of love. What an incredibly cool thing to do. Enjoy your very special family!
