On December 24,1915 , a prototype sound reinforcement system from Magnavox was deployed to
amplify a Christmas carol concert on the steps of San Francisco City Hall for an estimated audience of 100,000 people This was the first recorded example of an electric PA system being used to amplify a musical concert. That was exactly 100 years ago this month. This allowed crowds at the San Francisco City Hall to hear a caroling concert. This makes today the 100th anniversary of the first use of sound reinforcement for music.
