Title: Disabling Anniversary Stereo Switch
Post by: juggernaught on October 09, 2008, 03:59:03 PM
Got myself a beautiful '05 Brown Bass w/LEDs.  Love it to death, but what drives me crazy is the stereo switch.  The switch is right next to the 1/4 jack, so it's way to easy to accidentally hit especially when using a right angle cord.  Is there any way to disable the switch without doing anything permanent?

You've noticed the same thing I have about right angle chords. The chord would hit either the stereo or LED switch. I just quit using the right angle plugs and haven't had any problems since then.

It is this experience that caused me to move the LED switch on my Series 1.

I agree about the hassle.  I specified the relative positions of switches and jacks accordingly when I had my bass built so that the cable running up to the strap would not hit anything.

Maybe a side jack is another option to consider when looking at a new bass, although it wouldn't have the same authentic look on a brown bass i suppose.

hah!  I've got other plans and they don't include a brown bass.

In 5+ years of course.... :/

So on a related note, is it easy to switch out neutrix right angles for straight?  These Bayou cables were expensive...
