Hey Guys,
I know that there was already information about this here on the forum somewhere but cannot find it.
Would really appreciate any info on those input routers. How did they work precisely?
Many thanks

Anyone?
Would be great if someone could give me some info on these.

Oliver - I have one of these units. Mine is an IN-2. I thought they were all IN-2's but maybe there was an IN-1 that came before it. I thought it was an IN-2 because it was a 2 channel unit. Maybe not.
I do not have it in front of me but it is basically a rack mount power supply that has switchable outputs. It has both 1/4 inch outputs as well as XLR. It is set up so that the switch on the front of the unit can be set to mono or stereo switching combining channels together or separating them. It will even split the signal in reverse stereo if that makes sense. The XLR outputs have ground lifts and phasing switches.
It's really a neat tool if you use your Alembic sending 2 separate channels to the FOH or recording console. But you can do this with a regular Alembic power supply, just without the XLR outputs directly on the unit. So it's not going to change your tone, it just gives a little more flexibility.
I have a period brochure on the IN-2 unit, but it will probably take me forever to scan it in. I don't have a scanner at home. I do have an extra photo copy of the brochure and would be glad to mail it to you. Just send me your address. The brochure goes into much more detail and has a picture of the front of the unit.
I looked for one of these for a loooong time. I finally found someone with one and would call him about twice a year to see if he would sell it to me. One day he finally caved in and I bought it from him. I think I paid in the $150.00 area for it, but it is hard to put a price on it since they hardly go up for sale.

I believe there's something similar up for sale (http://link.marktplaats.nl/180290481) now in Holland. Maybe you could e-mail the seller?
-
Joram,
hartelijk bedankt.
Zal een mailtje sturen.
Tot dan

Advertiser in Holland says it's one of two power units that were custom-made for Edwin van Huik. From left to right, the front has (1) two XLR ins, with perhaps a small switch, (2) a big red switch for Stereo, Reverse Stereo, A+B, A Both, B Both, (3) two sets of jacks labeled A and B, and (4) two XLR outs, with two pairs of small switches. The photo doesn't show a model number ...
Oliver can only be looking for the unit that Michael (dela217) is describing - although this one probably comes close.
Nice Series I there (S/N 79 1?73). Asking price is a bit steep if you compare to US market - 5000 EUR = 7500 USD, but the first bid is half that.
The special power unit is offered separately for 950 EUR - seller says comparable to an SF2, but that's plain nonsense.

Adrian,
no this is THE thing. It is no preamp,
it is the input router.

Hi Oliver - you could be right, the only thing is that it doesn't actually say IN-1 or IN-2 anywhere on the front. Seeing that it was supposedly custom made for Edwin, you might check with him.
-
Adriaan, yes it is Edwins old one. He had sent me am pic of
his that he still has.
Exactly the same.

Well, Boxtel is just past Eindhoven - about 160 km from D?ren ...
-
Yes, emailed already but no answer yet.
Many thanks for your help guys.

The picture Adriaan posted above is very similar to an IN-2. The only difference I can see on the front panel is the addition of a second 5-pin input.
-
That one looks just like mine, but mine only has the 1 5-pin.
I can't believe it! I looked for one of these things for years. Someone here mentions it casually and they start showing up everywhere.
Oliver, grab this one if you can as they rarely show up for sale........Michael

Guys,
bought this particular one from Holland today.
Is anyone experienced with them and could explain me how they work?
Many thanks and many greetings
