These things are hard to find used! Anybody willing to part with theirs?
-
They show on eBay a couple times a month. Two sold in late February for $366 and $480. I should think anything in the $400s would be reasonable these days.
-
Agreed, see my other post about problems, they are great pieces and eminently fixable- thanks Ron!- Michael (Flame Koa Essence)

I found one new for under $712.00. This is way over my budget, but is it a good deal?
-
According to the Alembic web site, the list on a new F-1X is $1,000; so $712 would be a 29% discount. That sounds like a pretty good discount.

List has gone up about $200 over the past few years. The dealer probably has it in stock from before the last price increase, thus the great discount. I certainly don't think you'll find a new one anywhere for less than that. Used prices are slowly sliding up in response, so either would be a good choice right now.
One appeared on eBay a day or two ago at a $500 starting bid. I doubt it will see much action, but take your pick. $518 for a used one, $712 (plus shipping?) for a new one.

Mine is not for sale but I will share my story in the hopes that it may help you.
I had been keeping an eye out for one on ebay at the end of last year. Most were in the range of $450-$525. I lucked up one night and found a newly posted auction for $399 as a buy it now with normal shipping costs. I jumped on it because I felt that $400 looked to be the lower bound on the price for a used model.
If I were still looking for one I think I would still do the same thing and just check ebay over and over again until I lucked up. I still think that there will be people who will ebay it for $400 but it will be few and far between.
Best of luck.
