Spose, I've seen them on e-bay every 3 or 4 months over the last year and a half.  I don't remember the winning price or what shape they were in but it seems they were all reported to be in good enough condition.  In about a year or so I may be in the market for one for a homebuild project.  There's a lot of woodworking left to do before I get to the activators.
Good luck to you finding what you need to upgrade your P bass.

Most of the Alembic pickups I've seen on Ebay for the Jazz or P Bass style go in the area of $250-300.00 range with the controls & wiring.
 
I have a full set of MXY56 pickups with all the wiring & controls for sale.  
 
I'm just waiting to hear from Mica in response to the RIC style pickups I want to order before I list them.
