Title says it all. Would love birds eye maple, but open to others. Thanks!

I'm not a motivated seller, but this is not getting played (I have gravitated towards small bodied short scales). Therefore, I'd let it go for $2,000 + shipping... admittedly more than your average Spoiler, but there aren't many Bocate Spoilers floating around. She looks, plays, and feels GREAT!!!

Mike, your 96S9712 Spoiler Bass has the SAME Birthday as Mr. Phil Lesh and Mr. Harry James and just one day after mine ! (different years, LOL) What a nice Bass. Beautiful wood.
-
It's also my youngest son's birthday!!!

Hmmm, first off, beautiful bass. I was leaning towards the 1000-1600 area. If you were willing to come down a LITTLE bit, perhaps we could work out something. I have cash, just looking for the right Bass. Does it have a hard case?
-
Yea, it has (what I assume to be) the OHSC. When I first started buying these things, I swore I'd never sell one. But I really hate to see my non-shortys just sitting there. This Spoiler is the most comfortable bass I've ever owned. It balances perfect (no neck dive!!!) and the medium scale makes the first position an easy reach. If it had Signature or Anniversary electronics, it would probably be my main axe. I acknowledge that I'm asking a little over the market, but it's fairly unique and I don't have to sell it. You should be able to find a Spoiler in your price range without too much difficulty. The only reason to consider mine is if the Bocate speaks to you. It is a beautiful instrument.
-
I agree, it is beautiful. Im very interested in the Bocate, it's my fav along with the Birds eye. I could probly do 1900 shipped, which I think is a great buy for both of us. Still a little over market, which is what I think the Bocate deserves.
I actually e-mailed you, about an hour ago.

Well still looking. Mike has a beautiful bass, but we couldn't reach a price. Lets see em!

Hey,
Yeah i've seen that ad, looks good from a far, but that thing is hammered. I've seen closer pics, and that gash is deep. Cracking along the input...no go.
-
I guess that explains the price!!!

Ended up grabbing Mike's Beautiful Bocate spoiler. Can't wait. Been looking for a new guitar for awhile, about to be spoiled.
-
Great choice Bryan, congratulations! I know the bass and you're going to really enjoy it. Play it Healthy! Art

Thanks Art! Im really excited. Been playing the same Bass since 2000, and i've really outgrown it.(Ibanez Ergodyne luthite body)The spoilers are perfect for me. Gorgeous in look, and contruction, and tailored to my active, bright playing style. Gotta love it.
