Please place your expression of interest in the IN-2 here.
Alembic will be once again building these units so let them
know if you want one by posting in this thread.
I want one. 240V version please
slawie
-
Please include me for the USA 120V model if not dual voltage.
Thanks
-
I might be down for one of these. I'd like the idea of them containing an effects loop so that they could incorporate FX in the DIs.

Thank you so much.....
Oliver (Spyderman)
-
Yes, please count me in for one as well. Thanks!
-
I have an old serial #24 that I rebuilt the power supply section on. It pairs up nicely with my old F-2B with a Series I/II Stereo rig( my favorite configuration) I look forward to the acquisition of the new unit in the future.
-
How much?
-
I am very interested IN-2.
I ask some points.
1: How would work as Direct Box ? Pararel for phones and 3 pins ? Active or Passive ?
2: If it is available, DS-5 with additional 3 pin out as DI is easy for gigs.

-
I'm interested.
-
What schedule and what price could be ?
-
Possible to plugin 2 instruments as the pictures show in my link
-
well i have one at the mothership awaiting a clean bill of health, i too would like to see a new one. esp with an extra 5 pin
-
and ? price ? schedule ?
-
The price hasn't been established. We are just finishing up the DS-5 and then the DS-5R. The IN-2 will be after that, but I'm not ready to set a date just yet.
But it will have inputs for 2 Series I/II instruments, and will have switchable voltage.
-
fine Mica
-
I am going to have to opt out of this one, though I signed up a couple of years ago when the idea was first introduced.
And for posterity's sake, here's a link to the previous thread (http://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=15498)
-
This is excellent, please count me in for one. Two inputs, yes...
-
Mica,
Please include/count me in for (1) IN-2 unit also.
Thank You!!
Rich

I'm keeping track of names, and will let you know as this develops further. I'm working on the DS5R this week and so I hope to have the pricing and features for the IN-2 all ironed out by the end of the month.
-
Woo Hoo!!!!!!!
slawie
-
If it wouldn't too late, please count me in for one.
Toshiaki
-
and ?
-
And me... Even if I don't qualify as a professional musician i would gladly take one also...
-
some news here ? whats happend ? Price is online ?
-
I have waited so long I don't mind waiting a little more.
I have no news to share though. I hope it doesn't cost more than what I have stashed away for it.
I have been waiting for years.

Ok..I'm dense...
What's the big deal with this thing?
-
I'd like to have a rack panel with a bunch of LEDs on them that blink. I also want to add some vintage knobs. Doable?
-
Please add me to the pre-order list.
-
Ok..Once again...
Please explain the advantage to owning one of these things and what can it do?
Please?!!

Alembic's own words in description are best!
-
4 outs per p/up?? So you just need 1 of these, 8 F1-Xs, 8 SF-2s, 8 amps, 8 high cabs & 8 low cabs........
Peter (oh, yeah - and several roadies)
-
now you're starting to get it.
-
I'm still working out the pricing, there's one part that's proving hard to source, but dad is still on it. Hopefully by the end of the month I'll have pricing and a schedule down, then to make it look pretty like the new DS-5!
-
The waiting game continues...................
Any update Mica?

Ok 2013 ?
-
Still working on it, DS-5R and the IN-2. The DS-5R is actually being much harder than we thought, and some of the components for the IN-2 are quite obscure, so we are looking into other components.
I promise that I will announce here on the club as actual information is available to report.
-
I thought the DS-5R is the standard Alembic power supply. Am I missing something?
-
Well, it was the standard power supply. We're planning on having both the DS-5 and DS-5R in stock and then you can have either one on a new order.
-
THINGS THAT GO BUMP IN THE NIGHT?
Anyone care to update?
slawie
-
Time for the monthly bump.
Mica is paying attention
Darn those obscure parts suppliers.

All good things come to those that wait
I can't believe it's been a year and a quarter
since my first post regarding this.
More than 5 years in total since I started looking

Maybe in 2014?

I am still in for a unit
-
Can a regular 1/4 jack be used to run a bass?
-
Charles ,
Having had rebuilt the power supply circuit in my old IN-2 as close to original as possible I can report that the original IN-2 is not designed to do that.
However, with a different type of power source some active instrument circuits can be powered with a 1/4 TRS cable with the additional conductor.
-
I'm thinking about modding my DS5R to something like this. I don't need all the features, just the DIs and switchable effects loops for each channel. The biggest issue for me is the metal work (punching holes for the XLRs) as the rest of it is just soldering basic connections. I have some Reichenbach transformers just sitting around waiting to go.
-
Thanks Wolf,
I asked that question because on Mondays I am the House bassist and was looking for something that other bass players could plug into to use my rig. I have a series bass. I wonder if Alembic makes a unit that can do both.
-
It should be pretty trivial to build a switch box that would go before your preamp input that would select either the output of your power supply or a quarter inch input. Or even purchase a Radial or any number of other switch boxes.
-
Charles,
If you have an Alembic DS5R in your rack to power your Series I , the front and back audio outputs are in a parallel circuit if I remember correctly. If you wish to let someone play their bass trough your rig providing for example you have the signal output connected from the back routed on the way to the amplification , a mono instrument can be plugged into the front TS 1/4 jacks on the front of the DS5R. If you switch to mono both sides will get the same signal down 3 dB I believe per parallel mult . You just might want to unplug the 5 pin from your Series I from the front of the DS5R first. I have done this before and it worked.
-
Thank you,
I will try it out.
-
I have also tried plugging a non series bass into the mono jacks on the DS5R and it works fine.

Here's one for sale: Ebay link (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Alembic-IN-2-Input-Module-/111318093025?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19eb134ce1 target=_blank)
Crazy price, but you can make an offer...
For the new units:
Would be uberawesome if they can make it so, that the functions of the rotary switch can also be switched with a momentary footswitch (through Jack outputs)
Than you can make everything midi switchable with a device like the Voodoolab GCX/Rocktron patchmate, etc.
-
Thanks for that Flip.
I got all excited only to be disappointed once I opened the link.
What a pity that its 110V otherwise I would be all over it (with an offer that is, probably at 30% of their asking price - tops)
Mica, please do not use the above asking price as a benchmark for future IN-2's
The on/off switch needs to be in the front of the device also. I have moved my F2-B and DS5-R switches to the front of both boxes.
