I was on the look for one for quite a long time (2 years) and while I saw a number of long and short scale Series II on the market, medium scale were few and far between.  I've always wondered whether those who buy medium scale Series II basses take them to their graves or if it's a matter of a lot fewer of them having been built over the years.
 
Does anyone have any statistics on the scale length of Series basses that have been by the mothership over the years?

I don't know the stats, but my custom medium-scale Series II is on the production schedule (I think.)  It ain't for sale, though!  I've played 34 forever.  I figured I'd mix it up.  (Sorry for pseudo-hijacking the thread.)

Good question hammer. Most likely I will have to do what stout is doing. Unless of course he gets his, hates it, then trades me for a 34 and some cash.

The odds of finding a medium scale Series II might be better if you were looking for an early model, rather than a late one. Just a thought ...

Agreed and good advice. In the end that won't really matter much anyhow. If I find one, I most likely will be letting my current series 11 go back on the market.

Ye Harold lol. It is an exceptional bass. I tried really hard to love the 34 inch scale on this particular bass. I can play it fine but it does put my left wrist in a position that 40 years of muscle memory does not agree with. I have found a nice medium scale so I'm making a move on this one. Do you want to buy it back once again?

Thanks for the offer, I did have to think about it. Glad that you had fun with it. I have now sold it to two people and each one of them has moved on to a medium scale S2. I don't know what that means...but they both stayed with Alembic, they both stayed with S2.
