I will try to refrain from asking why you would want to pull those lovely Barts for D'irtMarzios.

Oops, I failed.....

Peter (who understands keeping something stock, but will take tone over originality once they've been swapped already)

Well what if someone only has one set ? Do you care if they come from different sources ?   I may have one set on a Bass . I was looking to put an Alembic P set in and take out the DI Marzio's at some point . I will see what the fair market price is . Best case scenario for me of course would be to trade for the Alembic PU's  ! LOL !!!

I'm a fan of dimarzios in passive basses over Bart's, Bart's just sound kind of flat to me unless they have a preamp

David ,
What are your thoughts  ? Is that a good deal ?  At least all electronic specs and physical measurements  would match .

You folks are amazing!

I do like Barts (a lot) but want to return this bass to stock, which means old Dimarzios. I think the originals were called PAF Dimarzios.

I don't care if they come from 2 sources. I will be selling these vintage Barts too (trade?). They are road worn and I expect they are old, but they sound great. I think they stick up a little taller than the original pups though.

Here is a photo I downloaded (apologies to the uploader) from the web showing the back of the pickups from an original bass. I don?t remember those stickers on my BC Rich, however.

Here is another shot. It looks like the Dimarzios are 4 seperate wire setups, so that they interface with the electronics of the bass.(http://club.alembic.com/Images/395/221195.jpg)

Gregory sent me a set of correct PUs for the Mockingbird and they are sounding great!!! (thanks so much!)

Now I just need one more set! The right DiMarzio PAFs really make the sound of this bass come alive!(http://club.alembic.com/Images/395/221559.jpg)

Do you still need a set? These could use some new covers. The DCr reads 5.69 and 5.65k ohms.

A most excellent example of what a BC Rich with two P pickups can sound like is the supreme groove that Jerome Preston sets up for Maceo Parker's Give Everything You've Got (http://youtu.be/ABLwmYI09Lw target=_blank).

The rest of the band ain't too shabby either.

Yep, that is the classic USA Neck-through BC Rich funk tone.

Here is the 70's band Seawind using an BC Rich Eagle (looks like a 70's Pearl Fiberglass drum kit too):

And Chic using one on a hit:

You can hear me playing one on the original version (1980's) of the Molokai Slide, which was/is a big tune in Hawaii (you have to sit through Tad's talking to get to the song):

They are great sounding and superb recording instruments.
