May also consider a 34 scale Mark King as well as a nice Spoiler, thats not overpriced.

Here is one on Ebay, a 34 Mark King in Japan although I think the price is a bit off reality.

There is a fellow on the Facebook Alembic musical instruments page that has been trying to sell a Mark King Standard for the past several months.  It's 34 scale, grafted walnut top.  He's from the UK.  If you've never played a long scale Alembic before, I'd recommend trying one before buying.  1st position on an Alembic long scale is a serious stretch for some folks, myself included.  I just picked up a Distillate in December and love it.  The bass/treble cut & boost switches are very handy on a live stage.

I just purchased a DeArmond with Novaks, so Mark King is out. Looking primarily for a Spoiler or Distillate.
thanks

Here's a 32 Series 1 you might consider...

To add to the comment by pas, I think the body size and shape affects playability of long scale basses as well.  For instance, first position can be a challenge for my standard point series 1.  I compensate by wearing it a little higher and pivoting it to the right of my body to enable me to more easily play the first position.  In contrast, my Orion is long scale but has a better ergonomic design and is much easier to play.  I attribute this to the smaller body size and contoured stomach shaping, all of which reduces the distance to the first fret and makes it easier to reach and play the first position.  So, pas is right, if you are considering long scale, try out a few models to see what works best for you, if at all.  Have fun!

Thank you all for the sound advice...at this point I am only looking for Spoiler and Distillate basses. I have an SF-2 to pair it with so I feel the combination will be amazing.

Hey Danno, the black Spoiler looks really nice and clean...was hoping for a wood finish though. Nothing shows up in a couple weeks or so, I may have a change of heart. Thank you for reaching out. I do have my fingers crossed for a Distillate, let a couple slip away this past month.

Hey Piper, I responded to your email!!!! Yeah I checked out the Spoiler in Washington...no interest whatsoever ton shipping the bass. I also made inquiry about the Distillate, no one really wants to give clear information about the bass, regarding the electronics. Rather deal with someone straight up here on the forum.

Yes, guess thats why you rarely see them available...wouldn't having a sustain block installed on a Spoiler improve things?

Craig, the only real difference between the Spoiler and the Distillate is that the Distillate has the 2 3 position bass/treble cut boost switches and purpleheart neck laminates.  Sustain is not an issue.  My Spoiler and Distillate are both from '85 - neither has a sustain block and it's not a an issue at all.  My SC Deluxe is from '07 and has a sustain block.  There is no discernable difference in sustain between the 3 basses.  Frankly, I'd prefer not to have the sustain block - it's just an additional piece of brass that adds weight to an already heavy instrument.

Congrats Craig!  I think you'll really like it.  I'd have offered you my Spoiler, but it needs a little work done before it's ready to go.

A while back I was looking into the Distillate v Spoiler question....and Mica responded with

Very similar electronics, build on the same preamp. Distillate adds a bass and treble cut/flat/boost switch that in the flat position will behave exactly like a Spoiler.
The Distillate body shape is a little different, with a flattened bottom, but a similar length upper horn. Both are standard 32 medium scale. Unless you had a solid Koa Spoiler, they should have more in common than not.
Just wondering does solid Koa make the bass a better buy?
