It's not often you see a Europa on ebay; but unfortunately this one has a major problem.  The pickups and electronics have been switched out for another brand.  In my opinion, this would be a nice bass if it was sent back to Alembic to have an electronics package installed.  It looks like the original holes are still ok for the controls; but the pickup cavities may have been modified.  Could be a nice project for someone who wants a 35 wide taper 5 string Alembic with Purpleheart laminates in the neck.

Just what might that refit cost??
I guess the real question begs,  why would anyone do that????

I noticed that one too.  What a shame that someone would take an Alembic and repopulate the electronics that way!
