I just listed a very nice 1981 Alembic Bass Series II on eBay and it will launch on Sunday evening for 7 days. It is in excellent condition and comes complete with the power supply, all the paperwork and case. Make an offer if you want. A new Series II sells for about 13,000.

FOR SALE: 1981 Distillate medium scale bass. Serial # 81D1990. Walnut top and back, mahogany core, maple with purple heart neck. Ebony fingerboard with walnut veneers. Schaller tuners, mother of pearl inlays, 32 scale, PS-1 alembic electronics. Excellent condition. I ordered this guitar direct from the factory in 1981. Simply a stunning piece of handcrafted excellence. I used it for studio and some live performance work, but would up going back to playing fretless and stopped playing it. It's a crime to let it languish in the case. Let's talk. Pics available. You'll not find a nicer, better taken care of Distillate than this one.

Hi rocketman,
What are PS-1 electronics? My '81 Distillate has DS-1: (similar to Rogue) pickup selector, volume, filter, Q switch, 3-way bass switch and 3-way treble switch (cut/normal/boost). And please post a pic or two if you can.
Thanks, Mike
