Title: Value on my '96 Epic 4
Post by: toshikatsuboshi on March 22, 2004, 05:23:22 PM
I'm contemplating selling my '96 Epic 4 on Ebay and am not sure of what's a fair price.  Not to many of them for sale on the Bay.  I'ts in good to very good condition.  Some surface scratches and a little buckle rash on the back.  Some of the gold plating has worn off the tuners and there is some tarnish on the bridge.  What's it worth?

Also, it appears to me that as compared with some other quality brands (e.g Sadowsky, Lakland, G&L, etc.), used Alembics seem to sell for a lower percentage of their new price.  I'd appreciate any enlightenment on this matter.

Aloha, Tim

For what it's worth, I paid $1100 last year for my '98 Epic 5 in excellent condition. Generally speaking, Epic's will bring $800 to $1200 on Ebay, depending on condition. Hope this helps...

Do you have photos?  Judging by your description and what I've seen Epics do on ebay lately, I would expect it to go for just under $1000.  Maybe in the $800 dollar range.
I have a 94 Epic 4 string that I bought on ebay last November for $780.00 + shipping of course. Fair price is a pretty subjective phrase.  I thought, and still think, mine was a great bargain.

I hope, and think you guys are on the money.  I just listed it on the Bay last night, and the bidding has met my reserve of $600.  Here's the link to it . . .
