Title: Pan pot question
Post by: telefunction on January 19, 2009, 12:36:32 PM
Hi all:
Brand new here. I just picked up a 1980's ESP Surveyor with Alembic pickups in a P/J configuration. It sounds absolutely lovely, BUT, the middle pot, which I assume is a pan pot for switching between pickups, appears to do nothing. Any suggestion for troubleshooting? Thankee kindly!

In the 80s the electronics could have been either 2 volume controls and one filter or a volume, pan, filter. If you can post a picture of the electronics or read the numbers on the pots that start with 475-XXX I can help you identify them.

Hi! as mentionned in my mail yesterday Mica, my pan pot of my SC deluxe 2004 was remplaced, but I have actually only the sound of the neck pickup. The pan pot work as volume control for neck pick up with a little scratch at the begenning.
Have you an idea ? Have you a pictures of explanation of the anniversary electronics ?

Pierre,
The standard version of Anniversary electronics does not use a pan pot but has two volume controls.
Here is a link (http://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=228) the Anniversary Electronics description.

I found the solution: it was just a mechanical problem, output jack touch the electronic of bridge pickup!!
