75 #145 near mint, bills rising, just wondering(http://club.alembic.com/Images/395/39572.jpg)

I'll give you $1500 + a Stratocaster + an Alembic Essence Fretless. Seriously.
-
I love it. How much????
-
I wouldn't take less than $4K for that if you have the case, cable and blue box. A higher price wouldn't be out of the question. I can't be positive about the woods, but that almost looks like an original brown bass.
-
Market is a bit soft right now, but I agree with Bob. 4 is the right number, more isn't beyond reason and less is a steal.
Doc isn't far off either, when you add it up.

Email sent.

Like asked before, is the set complete including case, power supply and cable? Have you decided what you will be selling it for?
-
I know the original price at Guitar Center 2 years ago.
My opinion is added $1000 to the original price.
I am very interested.
But I bought another bass on eBay last month.
If you permit, I can trade my 20th Anniversary bass (http://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=9208) + $1000.

thanks for the quick responses guys
i dont need to sell at this moment
and i appreciate the input .
-
thanks for teasing everybody...
-
that bass looks like it's been sittin in its Case for the past 32yrs..........
-
not trying to tease
i just wanted to see what the board thought it's worth.
i have a heap o cash in it and frankly it's in such nice shape that i am afraid to take it out live, it has virtually no wear and that's hard to replace and i don't want to spill a jaeger bomb on it. if it does go up for sale dela217 has 1st dibs .
again thanks for all the info and interest!

In my opinion, being used to the appeal of a well played beat up Fender: a couple of spilt Jaegermeisters could only help to add some more spice to an overmint clean Alembic. Plus they make you stick to the groove a little more...
-
Yeah with an alembic you Better know how to play in the pocket,or the sound will tell on you!
-
i love a broken in bass here's a 76 ray i've spilled a few on(http://club.alembic.com/Images/395/39732.jpg)

hey this bass reminds me of my beatup 1972 seriesI alembic!.....Basses were made for playin & this one tells one hellova story!
-
My '83 Spoiler also shows signs of her age, you can see she's been played a lot. I'ts my favorite, beats the '87 both on playability and sounds. (Though I wouldn't say the '87 is bad (http://club.alembic.com/Images/clipartbiggrin.gif))
Here are some pictures of her Beautymarks:
On the last picture you can see a severe damaged area on the bottom. Still puzzles me what could have caused that... There's also some wood erosion around the pickups.
-
Fc Spoiler, by the looks of the back of your neck you stay in the 'LOW ZONE'!
-
I would guess that damage was caused by a strap falling off the button and left hand holding the neck by the nut as the bass swung down to graze the floor. Maybe a concrete basement floor at that. Just a guess based on that pic...

I bought this bass a year ago, pretty much in the same state as she is in now. I bought the Fender new in '92 and as you can see I tend to play in the upper regions instead...
(I guess practicing Cliff Burton's solo for years is responsible for that finish wear @ the 12th fret position...)
-
If you play it, they will come.
(The scuffs and dings that is)
