I'm thinking of selling my MK dlx. 4 str. bass. It has the inlaid logo on headstock, cocobolo top,34 scale, comfort neck(like Essence), full size body. My ex-wife bought it for me. Ordered through Bass Central-delivered Feb. 2002. It is in mint condition w/ hardshell case. I didn't gig with it or play much because I didn't want to scratch such a beautiful instrument. So I usually play my cheap old precision. Thanks for input on the bass's value.

I sold my Alembic Mark King IV on ebay for $3,000 Mine was walnut with an omega cutaway. I would rate it an 9.8 out of 10.0 in condition. I guess it's value is what the market or member will pay. I would rather see a forum member get it, but that can't always be the case. I suggest posting it on this site with a few pictures attached and ask for offers. For me, ebay is a last resort. With all their listing fees, final value fees and Paypal fees, it can be costly to sell in that way. Best of luck.

I'll have to figure out how to load some pics. thanks. I guess yours was a standard model for $3000. Thanks again.

I am interested in your MK how about posting or Email me some pics

I would expect a minimum of $3500 for a recent Signature Deluxe instrument in mint condition, though $3000 for a quick sale isn't out of the question at the low end. The comfort neck on such a bass is an oddity and may alter the percentage of the population that would be interested in your bass. Without some exceptional features or optional equipment, it would also be rare for such an instrument to sell beyond $4500.
How long you are willing to wait to make a sale and the luck of finding the right buyer is really the key to the value of the instrument. Some instruments happen to resonate with a buyer and sell above the typical level, while others don't or find bad timing and fall well short.

I am also interested and would love to see some pics. Thanks!

Very tempting. It is a shame I am addicted to omegas. My turn will come around. Here are pictures of Soren's bass. Nice indeed!

That's all for now.

Thanks for the help. I should have wiped the fingerprint smudges off the bass. Otherwise it's very clean. thanks again, Soren

The comfort neck is the same as the Essence. It is 1.625 vs. 1.725 at the nut and 2.360 vs. 2.250 at the 24th fret. The stock MK neck has a straighter string spacing. Where the comfort neck gives more room for slapping in the pickup area.
