Title: For sale: 2000 Orion Fretless 5
Post by: eastcoastepic on February 25, 2008, 06:10:38 PM
Due to various reasons (my recent engagement being one), I have decided to part with my Fretless Orion. I would rather see it played & appreciated by someone, rather than just sit in her case in my closet. It is a stock Orion, with a very pretty Walnut top, and was purchased here from a club member back in 2004. She is in excellent condition (9.8 out of 10). The only issues are 2 small dings on the bottom edge of the body, underneath the knobs and jack. These are very minor, and affect the finish only. The unlined Ebony board has very minor wear from a set of roundwound strings that were once on it, but difficult to see unless you look hard. A cordura-covered hard case by ProTec (brand-new condition) is included. Electronics are fine, all adjusting mechanisms (nut, truss rods, saddles) work well with no issues, and original wood card is included. I might eventually put her up on ebay, but would prefer that she take up residence with one of us. Asking price is $1,900.00. Feel free to email (alembic5@att.net (http://mailto:alembic5@att.net)) with questions....
Thanks!
Chris

To the French gentleman of good repute! Congratulations on your new addition, Ellery, & let me know when the man in the brown suit drops her off..........
(It doesn't matter whether I'm buying or selling an Alembic, I suffer also until I know all is well!)

Ellery,

When Charles sold me the Rogue I currently have and shipped it to me in NZ I had to wait 4 days for customs to clear it- even though I had prepared and supplied all the necessary paperwork beforehand.  I filled out the customs paperwork 3 different times before they finally got themselves sorted.

Deep breaths and good luck....

I just saw a clip on You Tube of a Canadian Customs Officer learning how to play fretless bass....

I spoke with the senior Customs agent and she confirmed that they have no intention of opening up the package for inspection, but were waiting for replacement paper work which they had but mis-placed.

Yes friends, it's still at Customs, but is scheduled to be cleared before 3 pm (local time)

Ellery,
UPS.com says 11:33AM - released by clearing agency, now in transit....does this mean you two will get to meet today?!
No pun intended, but this is turning into a real 'east coast epic'....

The UPS customer rep says that In transit means that it's moving from Customs back to the delivery warehouse; somewhat mis-leading.  In all probability, I will not see her until tomorrow as it appears to be too late to get the package on the truck that services our district.  Before 11 am, I had the option to Hold for pickip, but not knowing when Customs would clear the package, made that an unwise choice.

Alas, but must I suffer another sleepless night whilst awaiting my beloved..  Jeez, that sucks!   I better stick to software. (LOL)

Look boys & girls, it's the man in the brown suit.  Hello Mr. Brown Suit. What? A package for me? I wonder who it's from?  Let's open it up and see.  Dah dah dum, dee dee dum, tra la la.  Y'all got the picture, right?

Chris, what time does she have to be home and has she ever been slapped... uhhh - musically, that is.  (LOL)

No worries, Ellery, she likes to stay out late. As far as slapping goes, that's something that you two will have to discuss as responsible adults. (Be nice though; I don't want any phone calls at 2:00AM, with her begging to be picked up)
But seriously, I want to thank you for a very smooth transaction, and I can truthfully say that you handled our deal with honesty & integrity, and any Club members who may interact with you in the future, may do so without trepidation. It's been a genuine pleasure, sir.
Play in good health for many years to come....
Chris

Thank you for the kind words.  My feelings about your end of this transaction are mutual.

And lest I forget Chris, congrats on your recent engagement and future wedding!
