Hi. This is my first post to the club and I apologize if this seems rather abrupt, but I've got some items to sell and a "story" to go along with them. My brother, a huge Alembic fan, passed away some months ago. He left behind a few guitars which will remain in the family, but also some electronic gear that he specified to be sold. It has taken me months to get to the stage where I could actually put these items up for sale, but time heals and these were his wishes. So on Mica's counsel, I'm adding this announcement to the club website before I post anything on ebay. I've included a couple of pictures of the items in the rack together. Haven't yet photographed every item by itself, but let me assure you everything is in fabulous condition. My brother was exceptionally fussy when it came to his instruments and gear. He was disabled for the last years of his life, so he mostly stayed at home and played for his own enjoyment. Thank you for your consideration.

Elizabeth, please be certain that you wish to sell the DS5R before you do it. If one of the instruments you will be holding onto is an Alembic Series bass or guitar, then the DS5R, or some DS5 unit, should be kept with it in the event anyone actually wants to play the instrument as intended. Feel free to email me, or post more info about the instruments here to see what is appropriate. I'm sure Mica could advise you if you contact her again as well.

Perfect Bob. This was my thought as well in the event there is a Series bass within the collection that will remain in the family.
My sincere condolences for your loss Elizabeth. You may also email me if you have any questions.

I have to say that I am touched by all the responses I've received. Thank you all. Bob (and Art), I appreciate the heads up on the DS5R. Will have to give that some thought.

Elizabeth:
May I also offer my condolences. Having recently lost my brother, I know how upsetting and trying these times can be to a family. I just want to make sure you are clear on the DS5R. The unit is specifically for an Alembic Series instrument. It has no other function, period. Similarly, an Alembic Series instrument must have a power supply, either the rackmount DS5R or the older box unit DS5. Without the power supply, the Series instrument will run through batteries like you wouldn't believe. By all means keep the DS5R with the Series instrument.

Per the input I received from several club members, I'm not selling the DS-5R, and have adjusted my asking price for the F-1X and SF-2. The ebay postings went up today. Thanks for all the advice.

Elizabeth,
I'm glad that we were able to offer you some guidance in the matter.
